أصبحت مصر أول منتخب عربي يبلغ نصف نهائي مسابقة كرة اليد في الألعاب الأولمبية الصيفية، بعد فوزها على ألمانيا 31-26 يوم الثلاثاء 08/3 في دورة طوكيو.

وضربت مصر موعدا في نصف النهائي مع فرنسا التي تخطت البحرين بسهولة 42-28
